As promised the pictures from our vacation in TN.
Something we do on every vacation it seems is mini golf
Natalie has a thing for goggles
We had a wonderful time hiking in the Smokey Mountains. Wish we could have done it one more day. I love this picture from a look out point.
The kids took a picture of a pile of bear poop too, but I will spare my readers from seeing that.
On our way home from Tennessee we decided to take a few detours and do some more site seeing. We stayed over in Cincinnati, OH and visited a basilica. They have people come from all over to see it.
They had beautiful mosaics
Gargoyles lined the top of the church.
They had a gorgeous tabernacle area, but no photographs were allowed to be taken.
We did however get a decent family picture. Some of the children were not thrilled about the picture.
We had a key locked in the van mishap and had to wait for what seemed forever for the lock out to get there. In the mean time the girls found something to keep them busy. There was a tree that was dropping pine cones and they decided to line them up.
Ellie taking all she could carry:
Here they are lining them up ever so neatly
By the time all was said and done they had over 150 pine cones lined up.
Saturday night we stayed over in IN so we could go to this church we had driven past last year. It was a very nice Mass. Then there was a life size Stations of the Cross at shine on the church property.
The church:
The kids sharing the Last Supper with Jesus
Agony in the Garden
Jesus on the Cross
The Empty Tomb
There was a wonderful memorial for aborted babies.
Last but not least....The Blessed Mother
And that was the conclusion of our exciting trip.
