A special thanks to everyone at Bellin Peds

Wow we have been home for a whole week now!

We met a lot of wonderful people while we were at Bellin Hospital. I don't know what we would have done with out the great nurses and wonderful Doctors there. Everyone was always so kind and genuinely caring. You could tell that the nurses really enjoy what they do and they have a wonderful knack for it too. We never felt like just another patient or just their job. Every single nurse there was so caring of Ellie and the ones we had regularly became very attached to her. Of course how could you not get attached! They were there to see her when she was very sick and to share in the wonderful miracle of her healing.

Lets not forget the Doctors! They were all very wonderful as well.

Dr. Afifi, the first one to treat Ellie, was swift in her decisions on how to treat Ellie. She was very attentive in making sure every little detail was taken care of and checking with the doctors at the Children's Hospital, and St. Vincents pediatric ICU just to make sure that she wasn't missing something. She got Ellie taken care of before we even knew what was wrong with her. We were blessed to have her as the Dr. there when we were admitted.

Then there was Dr. Chui and Dr. Hartinger who were there to follow up on Ellie.

Dr. Chui got to have the pleasure of putting Ellie on "cruise control" as he like to call it. Of course who could forget Dr. Chui thought maybe we should give Ellie calorie fortifier in bottles of breast milk. The nurses and I got a kick out of that. I mean have you seen that babies thighs? LOL
Dr. Chui had the tough time of having to be the one to keep us there for the third week. But it was all for the best. I wasn't able to get a picture with Dr. Chui, but won't soon forget him.

Dr. Hartinger was always there to make sure all my questions had been answered. He always came later in the day, which I loved since we were never up before 8am. Dr. Hartinger even brought in a book to give me more details of things. He was the doctor Ellie decided to role over for. He wanted our blog address and even had questions on how to blog. He was really a neat guy.

Each Dr. had their own special trait and we will be forever grateful for the care we received from all of them.

Now for some pics. I wasn't able to get pics with all our nurses, which made me sad. Some of our special friends we didn't get pics of were Theresa, Melissa, Jodi, Eddie, Dawn, Kim and many more.

Heather and Ellie

Ellie and Dr. Hartinger~ Look she is saying "Ok Doc, don't drop me"

Jill and Ellie

Ellie and the Jens! Jenny Z(longer blonde hair) and Jenny H(short dark hair). We called them the Jens when they were working together. And it turns out Jenny H's hubby works with Ryan.

Ellie and Tracy on the day we were leaving. Miss Tracy had the pleasure of discharging us and Ellie was sad to leave her.

Dr. Afifi and Ellie the morning we were going to leave.

We were there so long a couple of the nurses jokingly said they were going to rename the room we were in to "Ellie's Suite"!

We will go back for visits and I hope all our new friends check here from time to time so they can see their Ellie grow and do new things.

Thank you again, we will never forget you.
